Entering SpyView Keycodes

Installing keycodes into Spyview causes some users a little frustration. Here’s a few notes to help you:
Sign on with *SECOFR rights and start SpyView/DocManager- STRSPY

Take option 7 Work with License Registration.

Carefully check that the following fields exactly match those on the keycode you have been sent :

Serial
Version
Model
Feature

Note: After version 9.2.x Keycodes do not require Model and Feature.

Check that the keycode you have been sent shows the modules you believe you are entitled to. If there is any difference, stop and communicate with Opentext to get a corrected keycode issued.

You may have loads of product options listed on your screen. Use “4” to delete ALL of them.

Now use “F4” to select the ones listed on your keycode.

Overtype the date field for each valid product with the date shown on your keycode. All 9’s means permanent.

NOTE : YOU CANNOT OVERTYPE THE ” / ” CHARACTERS IN THE DATE – OVERTYPE THE NUMBERS AND USE ARROW KEYS TO BYPASS THE ” / ” SYMBOLS. (yes, it is silly) Press ENTER.

If you have entered all 9’s for the date, it will now allow you to correct the number of users for each module. Enter these, then press ENTER.

Now enter the keycode itself and press enter. You should get a message stating “Keycode accepted”.
